Collection Supervisor

About the role

Palmpay, a fast‑growing Pan‑African fintech, is looking for a proactive Collection Supervisor to lead its collections team in Uganda. You will ensure that collection activities are compliant, efficient, and aligned with the company’s targets while maintaining strong relationships with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the collections team, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement collection strategies to meet defined targets.
• Monitor team performance and productivity metrics on a regular basis.
• Handle escalated collection issues and negotiate with clients as needed.
• Train new team members on best practices and the tools used in collections.
• Prepare and present collection activity reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounts‑receivable disputes.
• Maintain relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments.
• Conduct regular team meetings to discuss challenges and successes.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in collections or accounts receivable, preferably within fintech or banking.
• Proven leadership experience managing a team.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of industry regulations governing collections.
• Experience in training and developing team members.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
• Basic understanding of financial statements and credit reports.
• Must be a Ugandan citizen.

Required skills

• Familiarity with collections software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
