Commercial Officer – Country Operations

About the role

The Commercial Officer will be the on‑ground driver of business development, liquidity management and regulatory liaison for BrighterMonday Consulting’s entry into the Ugandan market. Acting as the first representative, you will establish OTC trading, build early customer relationships and lay the foundation for future PSP services.

Key responsibilities

• Support business development and market entry, including OTC trading and future PSP services.
• Maintain liquidity, monitor cash positions, and manage treasury and foreign‑exchange exposure.
• Build and nurture relationships with regulators, banks, payment partners, merchants and fintech stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with AML/CFT, KYC, risk and regulatory reporting.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control, revenue tracking and financial reporting.
• Drive customer and merchant experience and support product innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems or related field.
• 2–4 years experience in FinTech, mobile money, banking, PSPs, EMIs, treasury or digital payments.
• Demonstrated interest in business growth, operations or client relationship management.
• Entrepreneurial, self‑starter mindset with ability to work as the first on‑ground representative.
