Credit Controller – Contract (Finance)

About the role

The Credit Controller will manage MTN Uganda's credit risk and ensure timely collection of outstanding customer debts. You will work closely with finance, sales, legal and customer care teams to maintain healthy cash flow and minimise financial exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers and recommend credit limits.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up overdue payments and negotiate payment plans.
• Escalate delinquent accounts to management and prepare statements, reminders and monthly invoices.
• Maintain accurate credit transaction records and produce daily, weekly and monthly collection reports.
• Resolve billing disputes, collaborate with internal departments and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Support junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement of credit control processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA, CPA or CIMA qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years experience in credit control or accounts receivable, preferably in telecom or financial services.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
