Data Systems & IT Manager

About the role

The Manager, Data Systems & IT will own Spark’s data ecosystem, designing collection platforms, databases and visualisation dashboards to enable data‑driven decisions across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain database structures (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ETL pipelines.
• Develop and manage data flows, dashboards and visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, Zoho Analytics).
• Ensure data security, backups, and compliance with data protection regulations in each operating country.
• Lead the organisation’s IT strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity and vendor management.
• Supervise product and IT officers in Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi and Ghana, providing clear goals and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with program design and MEL teams to integrate new platforms and improve data quality.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in database management, data integration and multi‑country IT support.
• Proven ability to lead distributed teams and drive IT strategy.
