Driver / Operator

About the role

The Driver / Operator will join a fully trained firefighting team, providing critical support for emergency response on a US Navy program. This position involves safely operating fire apparatus, maintaining equipment readiness, and ensuring accurate documentation after each incident.

Key responsibilities

• Drive firefighting apparatus to and from emergencies in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Operate pumps, power units, and other mechanical equipment on the fire vehicle.
• Maintain inventory of tools and equipment, performing checks after each response or training drill.
• Clean, service, and inspect the apparatus regularly, reporting any mechanical issues.
• Complete required documentation and reporting as directed by program and site leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of relevant experience, preferably at a US Military installation.
• Valid country driver’s license, passport, and ability to obtain necessary visas and facility credentials.
• Ability to pass and maintain contract medical requirements for the deployment duration.
• Fluent in English sufficient to follow emergency procedures and complete reports.
• Experience working in austere OCONUS environments with multinational teams.

Required skills

• Fire apparatus operation (pumps, water intake/discharge, mechanical equipment).
• Computer skills for inventory and reporting tasks.
