Economic Recovery Coordinator (Humanitarian)

About the role

The Economic Recovery Coordinator will support DRC Uganda’s economic recovery programme, working closely with the coordination team and field implementation partners to design, monitor and scale interventions across food security, livelihoods, market systems and financial inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advisory and capacity‑building to implementation teams on cash‑based assistance, market‑systems approaches and green graduation methods.
• Lead the development and roll‑out of the country Economic Recovery strategy and related SOPs, guidelines and learning products.
• Analyse sector trends, conduct capacity‑gap assessments and support the design of innovative interventions such as regenerative agriculture.
• Represent DRC in sector working groups, advocate for the programme and identify fundraising and partnership opportunities.
• Support recruitment of technical staff and assist the MEAL manager with qualitative and quantitative monitoring frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of humanitarian experience in food security, livelihoods, agriculture or financial inclusion.
• Master’s degree in political science, international development, economics or related field.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cash‑based assistance and market‑based programmes.
• Strong knowledge of protection principles, rights‑based approaches and core humanitarian standards.
• Fluent English with excellent written communication skills.
