Excel Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations. Working remotely with finance, marketing and operations teams across Africa, you will turn raw numbers into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex, scalable Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Develop dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100% data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on reporting templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, meticulous attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines across African time zones.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA macro development and custom scripting.
• Power BI familiarity.
• SQL database knowledge.
• Data‑visualisation principles.
