Field Operations Manager

About the role

The Field Operations Manager leads day‑to‑day operations at the Ishasha field site within the Queen Elizabeth Protected Area. Reporting to the Sector Manager, the role oversees logistics, procurement, infrastructure, and field team activities in a remote conservation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual operational plans and budgets aligned with the park’s strategic objectives.
• Oversee procurement processes, maintain reliable supply chains, and ensure compliance with WCS SOPs and financial policies.
• Manage construction, maintenance, and security of the Sector Headquarters and key park infrastructure.
• Plan and execute logistics for food, water, fuel, medical supplies, and equipment, including inventory control.
• Support department heads in resolving operational challenges and prepare regular KPI and progress reports.
• Coordinate with UWA QEPA staff and other partners for joint operational activities.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing conservation field operations in remote, protected‑area settings.
• Proven ability to lead logistics, procurement, and infrastructure teams.
• Strong understanding of standard operating procedures, budgeting, and reporting.
• Willingness to travel between the Sector Headquarters and Country Office as needed.
