Fleet & Transport Coordinator

About the role

The Fleet & Transport Coordinator will oversee the day‑to‑day coordination, maintenance, fuel management and regulatory compliance of all vehicles operating for G4S Uganda. The role ensures high fleet availability, controls operational costs and upholds strict health, safety and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate routine servicing, preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for all G4S vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles regularly to ensure they are roadworthy, secure and clean.
• Manage relationships with external garages, workshops and parts suppliers to minimise downtime.
• Track vehicle data, fuel consumption and mileage to prevent fuel fraud.
• Maintain valid documentation including insurance, statutory inspections and road licences.
• Compile weekly fuel reports and analyse variances across routes and vehicle types.
• Schedule driver shifts, route allocations and specialised transport requests.
• Monitor driver behaviour via telematics systems and enforce safety standards.
• Organise regular defensive‑driving and security‑awareness training for drivers.
• Maintain asset registers for keys, logbooks and fuel cards.
• Generate monthly reports on fleet utilisation, maintenance costs and total cost of ownership.

Required profile

• Minimum 36 months (3 years) experience in fleet coordination or transport services.
• Mid‑level professional with proven ability to manage vehicle maintenance, fuel tracking and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Experience with telematics and vehicle tracking systems.
• Proficiency in fleet management software for asset tracking, geofencing and reporting.
• Fuel consumption monitoring and reporting.
