Grants and Compliance Manager (Field)

About the role

The Grants and Compliance Manager will ensure the compliant implementation of the project in Uganda. Reporting to the Project Director, the role leads grant implementation, milestone reporting, agreement management and financial oversight in line with donor and CRS policies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the principal point of contact for grant financial management and compliance, liaising with program staff, sub‑awardees, CRS HQ finance and country finance teams.
• Support project start‑up, mid‑term and close‑out meetings to communicate donor requirements and finance‑related obligations.
• Develop, review and approve Fixed Amount Award agreements at sub‑award level, process amendments, and assess partner financial capacity.
• Monitor safeguarding policy compliance and conduct required assessments for sub‑awardees.
• Maintain a reporting tracking system to ensure adherence to deadlines, milestones and donor‑approved changes.
• Prepare financial reports in CRS systems, co‑develop progress reports linking milestones to spending, and analyse deviations.
• Provide guidance on donor and CRS finance policies, and resolve questioned costs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grant financial management and compliance within a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong understanding of donor requirements, sub‑award administration and safeguarding policies.
• Excellent analytical abilities to monitor budgets, milestones and financial performance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program, finance and operations teams across multiple locations.
• Relevant degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field.
