Head of Commercial

About the role

The Head of Commercial will lead commercial strategy and execution for HOMNA Engineering Uganda Ltd, an authorised distributor of waterproofing, flooring, drainage and insulation solutions. Based on‑site in Kampala, the role drives revenue growth across key product lines while aligning with the company’s sustainability and safety objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial plans, pricing strategies and revenue targets.
• Manage distribution channels, hardware shop relationships and the company showroom.
• Identify new business opportunities and collaborate with operations and technical teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Lead, coach and evaluate the commercial team to ensure high performance.
• Prepare forecasts, financial reports and monitor profitability.
• Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking and contribute to long‑term strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Strong commercial management and business planning experience.
• Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategies.
• Excellent analytical and financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Demonstrated team leadership and motivation skills.
• Experience in construction materials, building solutions or related industrial sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field; advanced degree or certification is a plus.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
