Health and Safety Officer

About the role

The Health and Safety Officer will support BondRich Advisory Group Limited in creating a safe and compliant workplace. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will implement policies, assess risks, and promote a culture of safety across all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and communicate health, safety, and environmental policies in line with local and national regulations.
• Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and recommend control measures.
• Design and deliver training programs on safety practices, emergency response, and proper use of protective equipment.
• Investigate accidents, near‑misses, and incidents; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Carry out regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
• Create and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation and first‑aid procedures, and conduct drills.
• Implement environmental initiatives such as waste management, pollution control, and energy conservation.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure ongoing compliance and stay updated on legislative changes.

Required profile

• Knowledge of Ugandan health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Ability to communicate policies and training material effectively to all staff levels.
• Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and incident investigation.
