IT Asset Management Support Analyst (6‑Month Fixed Term)

About the role

The IT Asset Management Support Analyst provides operational assistance to ensure accurate tracking, deployment and disposal of the organisation's hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the role is fixed‑term for six months and supports procurement, onboarding, and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all hardware and software assets in the asset management system.
• Track assets from procurement, receipt, deployment, transfer, maintenance to disposal.
• Assist with receiving, tagging, and inventory of IT equipment.
• Coordinate asset allocation and recovery during employee onboarding, transfers and off‑boarding.
• Perform periodic physical audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Support software asset management by maintaining license inventories and assisting compliance checks.
• Generate regular asset reports and dashboards for management.
• Monitor warranty and maintenance information for equipment.
• Verify asset requirements for procurement and update records.
• Coordinate secure disposal and recycling of retired assets in line with policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in IT Asset Management, IT Support or Service Desk.
• Professional certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., IAITAM) or ITIL Foundation is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic understanding of software licensing principles.
• Knowledge of inventory management practices.
