IT Techno Functional Manager - SAP S/4HANA ABAP Development

About the role

The IT Techno‑Functional Manager will lead the planning, design, implementation and ongoing management of the SAP S/4HANA landscape. This senior position bridges functional business knowledge with deep technical expertise to drive system optimisation, integration and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end SAP S/4HANA implementation, configuration, custom ABAP development and integration with external systems.
• Design, optimise and maintain SAP modules (SD, MM, PP, FI, QM, SuccessFactors) ensuring stability, scalability and compliance with SAP standards.
• Manage full project lifecycle – requirements gathering, design, go‑live, post‑implementation support and continuous improvement.
• Oversee performance tuning, system upgrades, patches and SAP governance including access controls, segregation of duties and audit support.
• Drive data migration, master‑data governance and reporting enhancements using Embedded Analytics and CDS Views.
• Coordinate integration middleware (API Gateways, ESB, EDI) and ensure high‑availability interfaces with tax, banking and other external platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; SAP certification or postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of SAP experience covering both functional and technical roles, with at least one full‑cycle S/4HANA implementation.
• Proven knowledge of Uganda tax regulations, EFRIS integration and SAP SuccessFactors payroll.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
