Kitchen Steward

About the role

The Kitchen Steward ensures that all back‑of‑house areas, dishes and equipment are cleaned to the highest standards, supporting a smooth and safe operation for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and store all dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment according to operating standards.
• Maintain hygiene in all food‑service and back‑of‑house areas, performing regular cleaning tasks.
• Monitor and report any damages, breakage or spoilage to the supervisor.
• Apply health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals.
• Inspect areas for cleanliness, address guest complaints promptly, and support guest satisfaction.
• Assist with lost‑and‑found procedures and follow up on audit recommendations.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with up to 12 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
• Willingness to follow procedures and report issues promptly.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning product usage and economical application.
• Understanding of chemical safety and proper storage.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in hospitality.
• Ability to maintain maximum hygiene in food‑service areas.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from UGX 500,000 to UGX 1,000,000 per month.
