Landscaper

About the role

Marriott International is looking for a dedicated Landscaper to keep the hotel’s outdoor areas attractive and safe for guests and staff. This full‑time position involves daily maintenance of lawns, gardens, fountains and other grounds features at the Kampala property.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance.
• Maintain fountains, planters and other features by cleaning, repairing or replacing as needed.
• Install new flowers, bulbs, grass, trees and shrubs.
• Water, weed, trim and care for flower beds, baskets and boxes.
• Trim, prune and transplant trees, shrubs and plants.
• Mow, edge and rake lawns, including hard‑to‑reach areas.
• Install, maintain and operate irrigation systems.
• Collect and bag trash from exterior containers.
• Operate dump trucks, tractors, trucks or utility vehicles to transport equipment, supplies and debris.
• Wash, clean and refuel equipment after use and report any defects or safety concerns.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related landscaping or grounds‑keeping experience.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of irrigation systems.
• Use of dump trucks, tractors and other utility vehicles.
