Learning Officer – Uganda Response Innovation Lab

About the role

We are seeking a Learning Officer to coordinate learning activities within the Uganda Response Innovation Lab (U‑RIL). Based in Kampala with up to 30 % field travel, you will help embed cross‑sectoral learning into Uganda’s refugee response and support evidence‑driven programming.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate learning activities led by U‑RIL and the Learning Hub team.
• Manage knowledge‑management processes, including collection, synthesis and dissemination of evidence, data and lived‑experience resources.
• Support the Uganda Refugee Resilience Initiative (URRI) by strengthening the evidence and learning agenda across consortia.
• Engage with partners – government, UN agencies, NGOs, private sector and academia – to promote collaboration and innovation.
• Contribute to thought‑leadership, nexus programming and policy influence based on validated learning.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in learning, knowledge management or evidence synthesis in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to work both in an office setting and in the field (up to 30 % travel).
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for refugees and vulnerable children.

• Report writing and knowledge product development.
