Legal Manager

About the role

The Legal Manager is a key member of Uganda Breweries Limited’s legal function, providing proactive, commercially focused legal advice across the business and ensuring compliance with local and global governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted legal and governance adviser to business leaders across demand, supply and enabling functions.
• Provide commercial legal support for contracts, marketing, supply chain, labour relations, regulatory engagement, litigation, IP, data protection and brand protection.
• Support the Legal Director & Company Secretary with corporate governance, board and shareholder matters and statutory compliance.
• Manage relationships with regulators, external counsel and third‑party providers, and oversee legal spend.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognised university and postgraduate diploma or equivalent legal practice experience.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a corporate, commercial or highly regulated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to balance commercial objectives with legal and regulatory requirements.
