Mechanic (Forklift, Loader & Vehicle Maintenance)

About the role

The Mechanic is responsible for keeping all company vehicles, forklifts and loaders safe, reliable and ready for operation. Working on‑site in Kapeeka, the role supports logistics, warehousing and construction activities by minimising equipment downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on light vehicles, heavy trucks, forklifts and wheel loaders, including oil changes, filter replacements, tyre rotations and brake inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using diagnostic tools and hands‑on inspection.
• Repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering, braking, hydraulic and electrical systems, and replace worn components such as belts, hoses, batteries and seals.
• Specialise in forklift mast, carriage, hydraulic cylinders and control valves, as well as wheel loader buckets, articulation joints and cooling systems.
• Maintain accurate service logs, prepare weekly/monthly maintenance reports and track spare‑parts inventory.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures, use personal protective equipment and ensure all work complies with safety standards and local regulations.

Required profile

• Full‑time availability and ability to work on‑site in Kapeeka.
• Reports directly to the Workshop Manager.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing light vehicles, heavy trucks, forklifts and loaders.
