One Health & Bio-Innovations Officer

About the role

The One Health & Bio‑Innovations Officer will lead microbial water testing, mycotoxin mitigation and bio‑safe soil fertility initiatives across rural cluster cooperatives. This role combines field‑level laboratory work with training and surveillance to improve health outcomes for communities and ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Implement field‑level microbiological water quality and aflatoxin screening assays.
• Deliver bio‑pesticide, organic composting and soil remediation training to cluster cooperatives.
• Manage zoonotic surveillance protocols in collaboration with local veterinary and public health departments.
• Document environmental indicator benchmarks for the GIDA Planetary Health repository.

Required profile

• Degree in Microbiology, Environmental Health, Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine or Biochemistry.
• 3–5 years of laboratory and field testing experience in rural agricultural environments.
• Hands‑on expertise with rapid bio‑assay kits and environmental health auditing tools.
