Operations Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead daily hotel operations, ensuring an excellent guest experience, consistent service standards, and efficient use of resources. Reporting to the General Manager, the role combines leadership, financial oversight, and compliance responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, kitchen, stores, maintenance, security and other hotel functions.
• Set and monitor service standards, operating procedures, duty rosters and departmental work plans.
• Supervise department heads, allocate responsibilities, monitor attendance and performance, and coach staff.
• Handle guest complaints, ensure timely corrective actions and maintain high service quality.
• Coordinate room occupancy, reservations, event schedules and service capacity.
• Work with finance and marketing to monitor revenue, expenditure, cost control and budget implementation.
• Review daily operational reports, guest feedback, stock usage, wastage and maintenance issues to drive improvements.
• Manage purchasing, receiving, storage and inventory processes to minimise losses.
• Ensure preventive maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance across the property.
• Support recruitment, induction, training, performance reviews and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant hotel or hospitality operations experience, including supervising multiple departments.
• Understanding of front‑office, housekeeping, food & beverage, inventory control and guest relations.
• Ability to interpret operational and basic financial reports, manage budgets and control costs.
• Knowledge of hospitality standards, health and safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
