Part-Time Certified Public Accountant – Cocoa Operations & Export

About the role

We are a Uganda‑based company that sources, aggregates, and exports cocoa beans. We are looking for a qualified Certified Public Accountant to work part‑time, initially fully remote, to manage accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting for our growing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, supporting documentation, and reconcile purchases, supplier payments, operating expenses and export transactions.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, cash‑flow reports and financial summaries.
• Manage bank, mobile‑money, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Support VAT, withholding tax, PAYE, NSSF and other URA statutory filings.
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan accounting and tax requirements.
• Document cocoa purchases, warehouse operations, logistics and exports.
• Review invoices and payment requests before approval.
• Coordinate with management, auditors, tax advisers, banks and financial partners.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control, financial forecasting and audit preparation.
• Monitor receivables, payables and working‑capital cycles.

Required profile

• Certified Public Accountant qualification recognised in Uganda (CPA Uganda / ICPAU membership preferred).
• Professional accounting experience in Uganda with strong knowledge of URA taxation, VAT, withholding tax, PAYE and NSSF.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
