Project Assistant – Amuru

About the role

The Project Assistant will support Raising The Village’s community‑based initiatives in Amuru, working directly with partner villages to implement projects that increase household income and reduce extreme poverty. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Kamwokya, Uganda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project design review meetings with partner villages, providing feedback to update designs and budgets.
• Co‑facilitate training sessions on financial literacy, behavior change, water and sanitation, VSLAs, agriculture, livestock care, and health outreach.
• Prepare and submit procurement lists, verify goods before distribution, and manage weekly field reporting.
• Develop work plans, track project progress, and support donor reporting and proposal writing.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and conduct regular meetings with community leaders to assess performance and perceptions.
• Provide feedback to the Project Officer and Manager to improve methodologies and ensure sustainability.

Required profile

• University degree in Community Development, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in community development programs, project management, facilitation, or leadership.

Required skills

• Strong training and facilitation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
