Purchasing Agent

About the role

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing food inventories, processing orders, and ensuring accurate record‑keeping within a hotel environment. This full‑time position supports the kitchen and service teams by maintaining optimal stock levels and adhering to food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate figures for food inventories, orders, and costs.
• Maintain organized records of reports and invoices.
• Post invoices using computer programs and reconcile shipping invoices with receiving reports.
• Conduct inventory audits, complete requisition forms, and monitor PAR levels.
• Receive, unload, and process deliveries; reject damaged or incorrect items.
• Communicate low stock levels to managers and troubleshoot vendor delivery issues.
• Follow food safety policies, report accidents, and complete safety training.
• Ensure professional appearance, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience in purchasing or inventory management.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lb and work in varied physical conditions.
