Regulatory Compliance Pharmacist Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare distribution company in Uganda, is looking for a Regulatory Compliance Pharmacist Manager. The role will lead all regulatory affairs and compliance activities, ensuring products, operations and quality systems meet national requirements while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the regulatory affairs and compliance function in Uganda.
• Manage registration, renewal, variation and maintenance of product licences with the National Drug Authority and other bodies.
• Ensure continuous compliance with pharmaceutical, healthcare and consumer product regulations.
• Develop and implement regulatory strategies for new product launches and market expansion.
• Review and approve regulatory documentation, submissions and product dossiers.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, audits and respond to findings.
• Oversee product release processes to meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Monitor legislative changes and communicate impact to the business.
• Maintain regulatory records, licences, permits and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Commercial and Medical teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
• Provide regulatory guidance to internal teams and support cross‑functional decisions.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Regulatory Affairs team.
• Support regional regulatory initiatives and multi‑country projects where applicable.

Required profile

• Pharmacist with extensive knowledge of Uganda's pharmaceutical regulatory framework.
• Minimum 96 months (8 years) experience in regulatory affairs.
• Senior‑level professional.
• Ugandan national.
