About the role
The Relationship Manager – Employee Banking will manage and grow a portfolio of corporate schemes that provide banking and financing solutions to employees. Reporting to the Manager Employee Banking and based at the Head Office in Kampala, the role ensures high‑quality service, risk control and timely loan repayment across the scheme portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned corporate schemes, handling promotions, loyalty activities and communications on service standards, pricing and product changes.
- Collaborate with Employee Banking teams, branch managers and regional supervisors to achieve portfolio growth targets through acquisition, retention and cross‑selling.
- Oversee loan invoicing and repayment, follow up on non‑repayment cases and monitor portfolio performance against risk and service standards.
- Train and support the Employee Banking team on product offerings, ensuring high‑quality credit files.
- Manage customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining high satisfaction levels.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, strengthening partnerships with employer institutions.
- Research market trends and recommend product or process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies, procedures and risk controls.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management or related field; professional banking qualification or master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum three years’ experience in banking or a similar environment with exposure to sales, schemes and relationship management.
- Strong credit analysis skills, business acumen and experience leading sales teams.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet targets and demonstrate leadership behaviours aligned with the bank’s values.
- Good understanding of employee banking products, pricing and positioning.
- Strong computer literacy and numerical skills; team player capable of building cross‑functional relationships.
