Sales and Marketing Associate

About the role

The Sales and Marketing Associate will work on‑site in Kampala to drive the growth of an insurance agency. Reporting to the Agency Manager, the associate will combine sales outreach with marketing support to attract new clients and nurture existing relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and present agency services to prospective clients.
• Conduct market research, prepare sales pitches, proposals and track campaign performance.
• Coordinate with creative and account teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
• Attend client meetings, respond to inquiries, provide timely follow‑up and support.
• Assist in planning and executing marketing initiatives, promotions and brand positioning activities.
• Work closely with senior team members to meet sales targets and align marketing efforts with client objectives.

Required profile

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer‑service orientation with the ability to manage client inquiries and maintain positive relationships.
• Sales expertise including lead generation, negotiation and deal closing.
• Ability to support campaign planning, promotion and brand positioning.
• Training or coaching capability to educate clients or colleagues.
• Diploma or degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in sales, marketing or agency environments is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital marketing tools.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Competence in common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
