Truck Driver – Kampala Branch

About the role

The Kampala branch of RamcoGas is seeking an experienced truck driver to transport LPG cylinders, staff, and company goods safely and efficiently. The role involves daily vehicle operation, compliance with safety standards, and support for depot activities when not on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Transport LPG cylinders and related products to and from designated locations.
• Load, unload, and handle cylinders according to safety procedures.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, water, brakes, tires) and report any issues.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, roadworthiness, and adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Record deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents accurately.
• Follow all road safety rules and company policies.
• Assist with cylinder movements within the depot and other branch operations as needed.

Required profile

• Valid Ugandan driving licence (Class CM, CH, or DL preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience driving heavy commercial vehicles, preferably in fuel or LPG transport.
• Good knowledge of Kampala roads and surrounding areas.
• Strong sense of responsibility, safety awareness, and reliability.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Driving heavy commercial vehicles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle upkeep.
• Ability to conduct vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
