Urologist – Clinical Doctor

About the role

The International Medical Corps is seeking a qualified Urologist to join its medical team in Kamwokya, Uganda. The role involves delivering comprehensive urological care to out‑patients and in‑patients, performing surgeries, and supporting emergency response for acute conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outpatient consultations for urological disorders.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as kidney stones, prostate disease, and male reproductive health issues.
• Perform urological surgeries and procedures within the facility’s surgical program.
• Offer inpatient consultations, post‑operative care, and follow‑up for admitted patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex cases.
• Interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory results relevant to urology.
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards, infection‑prevention, and patient‑safety protocols.
• Participate in emergency response for acute urological emergencies.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with completed postgraduate training in Urology.
• Valid medical license and board certification or equivalent specialization.
• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in urology, including surgical practice.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Fluency in English.
