Warehouse Assistant

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support the Core Relief Items (CRI) warehouse in Adjumani. You will play a key part in ensuring that relief supplies are received, stored, tracked, and dispatched efficiently and in compliance with IRC and UNHCR procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security, cleanliness and safety of the warehouse at all times.
• Receive CRIs, verify quantities against waybills, delivery notes and purchase orders, and inspect for quality, damage or expiry.
• Organise items using FIFO/FEFO principles, label and stack them for easy retrieval.
• Maintain accurate documentation: Goods Received Notes, stock/bin cards, dispatch notes and waybills.
• Update daily stock movement records, reconcile physical stock and support periodic stock counts.
• Prepare items for dispatch according to approved distribution plans and assist with loading and off‑loading.
• Report any discrepancies, losses, damages or expiries promptly to the Field Manager and Protection Coordinator.

Required profile

• Attention to detail and ability to follow strict documentation procedures.
• Basic understanding of inventory control concepts such as FIFO/FEFO.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced humanitarian environment and handle physical tasks safely.
