WASH Specialist (P-3) – Technical Assistance in Kampala

About the role

The WASH Specialist (P-3) provides technical, programme management and partnership support for UNICEF’s WASH, Environment and Climate Action portfolio in Uganda, focusing on the KOICA‑supported climate‑resilient WASH programme in Karamoja.

Key responsibilities

• Design evidence‑based WASH and climate programmes and integrate them into the country programme.
• Track implementation, resources and results, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
• Provide technical guidance, resolve operational bottlenecks and support humanitarian WASH preparedness and response.
• Strengthen partnerships, advocacy and resource mobilisation with government, KOICA and other stakeholders.
• Promote learning, innovation, knowledge management and capacity development.
• Integrate climate‑resilience and sustainability into WASH interventions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, Climate Studies or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in WASH, programme management, monitoring & evaluation, partnerships or climate‑action, including at least one year deployed in a developing country.
• Fluency in English; additional UN language or local language is an asset.
