WTP Operator in Training (OIT)

About the role

The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Operator‑in‑Training supports the operation and maintenance of a Navy‑standard water treatment facility, gaining hands‑on experience while ensuring safe, potable water production.

Key responsibilities

• Assist certified operators with daily operation, monitoring and control of water treatment processes.
• Perform routine inspections, collect water samples, conduct basic testing and record operational data.
• Learn and support treatment processes such as filtration, disinfection, chemical dosing and system monitoring.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, maintain facility cleanliness and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Support inspections, audits and other mission‑critical water utility activities.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in utilities, water‑treatment support or industrial operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent with basic understanding of water‑treatment principles and mechanical systems.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, procedures and safety protocols.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends or on‑call schedules.
• Valid passport (minimum 1 year validity) and ability to pass contract medical requirements.
