Accountant

About the role

KairoNexus Voyages Limited, a travel intelligence and booking company based in Uganda and a subsidiary of Kairos Momenta, is hiring an Accountant for its office in Entebbe. The role covers day-to-day financial operations and is full-time, structured as a hybrid position combining on-site work with some work-from-home flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Record transactions, maintain general ledgers, prepare financial statements and reconcile bank accounts.
• Track revenues and expenses, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure timely invoicing and payments.
• Assist with statutory filings and tax compliance.
• Prepare financial reports for management and monitor internal controls.
• Collaborate with operations and management to support decision-making.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is an advantage.
• Experience in a technology, travel or services company is beneficial, along with an interest in travel and innovation.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organisational, communication and collaboration skills for a hybrid setup.

Required skills

• Financial accounting, general ledger management and financial statement preparation.
• Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and cash flow monitoring.
• Budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting.
• Taxation, regulatory compliance and local accounting standards relevant to Uganda.
• Accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage or similar; advanced Excel).
