Audit Trainee – Entry Level Audit Position

About the role

Ardenfield Consult (U) Ltd is seeking an Audit Trainee to support the audit team in carrying out audit assignments for multiple clients under the supervision of Audit Seniors and Managers. The role is suitable for a recent graduate or candidate with up to one year of relevant experience who wants to build a career in external audit, financial reporting and assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with audit assignments for multiple clients.
• Gain an understanding of clients’ businesses and operations.
• Perform audit testing and document findings.
• Prepare and maintain accurate audit working papers.
• Verify financial records, including assets, liabilities, income and expenses.
• Identify and report errors, inconsistencies and unusual transactions.
• Assist in evaluating internal controls and identifying weaknesses.
• Participate in stock counts and field audit assignments.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and audit reports.
• Follow up on outstanding audit queries with clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• Recent graduate or up to 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Progress toward ACCA or CPA is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of accounting and auditing principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• High integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment and travel to client sites.
• Interest in external audit, financial reporting and assurance.
• Commitment to pursuing a professional accounting qualification.
