Biomass Verification Supervisor

About the role

The Biomass Verification Supervisor reports to the Harvest Team Lead and manages all biomass verification activities, including data capture, weighing and counting discipline, and floor-level operations. The role ensures accurate and traceable recording of biomass data in the YU Fish Count app, oversees workflow and manpower deployment during verification, and enforces hygiene, safety and security protocols. It sits in the Production division, Lake Operations department.

Key responsibilities

• Capture or oversee capture of all weighed and counted records in the YU Fish Count app.
• Maintain traceability records and reporting discipline across biomass verification.
• Make sure the weighing scale is properly tared before each weighing.
• Ensure only authorized users submit data into the application and escalate data issues to the Team Lead, who works with the Data and Analytics Team.
• Organize workflow and manpower deployment for biomass, ensuring verification only proceeds in the presence of security.
• Monitor counting accuracy, weighing discipline, hygiene and safe handling; manage discrepancies, recounts and first-level floor issues.
• Support verification of crate release at operational control and prevent batch mixing at the Receiving stage.
• Run regular spot checks and audits of weighing and counting stations.
• Train, coach and support general workers and data capturers on scooping, weighing, counting and data entry.
• Compile and submit shift reports summarizing verification data, discrepancies and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture.
• Strong leadership and supervisory ability.
• High attention to detail and good organizational and workflow management.
• Strong communication skills for escalation and cross-team coordination.
• Integrity and reporting discipline, especially with data and traceability.
• Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
