Biomedical Engineer ERT

About the role

The Biomedical Engineer (Emergency Response Team) will ensure that critical medical equipment in field health facilities is installed, maintained, and operating according to international standards. The role includes assessing facilities, defining equipment needs, and providing on‑site training to local staff.

Key responsibilities

• Define objectives and plan biomedical activities for designated health facilities.
• Monitor implementation of equipment management procedures, including installation, disposal, use, and maintenance.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, and certification of equipment.
• Manage spare‑parts inventories, stock levels, and equipment replacement to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with the Response Lead and Medical Coordinator on HR processes such as recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of biomedical technicians.
• Provide technical support and training to medical staff on equipment operation and basic repairs.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 8 years) in biomedical engineering or medical equipment maintenance.
• Proven ability to work in emergency or humanitarian settings.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage contracts and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication skills for training and reporting.
