Business Development & Operations Manager

About the role

Nile Transformers Ltd. is seeking a dynamic professional to lead both business development and operational coordination in its Jinja plant. The role combines market expansion, client engagement, and end‑to‑end execution of transformer projects.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new enquiries, build and maintain customer relationships, and conduct techno‑commercial presentations.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and manage tender processes for government, utility and institutional bids.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and follow up on orders, payments and after‑sales support.
• Coordinate with production, design and stores to ensure smooth material flow for manufacturing.
• Handle procurement and sourcing of electrical and mechanical components, develop vendor networks and negotiate pricing and delivery schedules.
• Oversee logistics, internal execution and ensure timely availability of materials for production.

Required profile

• B.E. or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; MBA preferred.
• 5–12 years of experience in the transformer industry, preferably with exposure to African markets.
• Proven track record in business development, vendor management and procurement.
• Reports directly to the Managing Director and senior directors.
