About the role
The Case Management Officer will work under the supervision of the Case Management Coordinator to provide comprehensive protection case management for children at risk of violence, abuse, exploitation or neglect in Nakivale Settlement, Uganda. The role involves guiding children and families through identification, assessment, planning, implementation, follow‑up and closure of cases while ensuring timely referrals to essential services.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct full case management cycle for an assigned caseload of vulnerable children, including documentation, assessments, action plans and follow‑up.
- Provide psychosocial and emotional support to children and families throughout the case process.
- Make safe referrals to health, education, legal and other services and monitor the quality of those referrals.
- Liaise with community members, NGOs, government partners and service providers to identify and refer children at risk.
- Maintain up‑to‑date service mapping for the geographical area and participate in inter‑agency case conferences.
- Engage in regular case management team meetings, capacity‑building trainings and peer‑learning activities.
Required profile
- Experience in child protection or social welfare case management.
- Ability to conduct assessments, develop case plans and provide follow‑up support.
- Strong communication skills for working with families, community stakeholders and partner organisations.
- Willingness to work onsite in Nakivale Settlement and travel within the area as needed.
