Class Teacher KS1 – Maternity Cover (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Grove Primary School is looking for a motivated Class Teacher to cover a maternity leave in its Key Stage 1 (Year 2) class. This fixed‑term position starts in mid‑November 2026 and runs until the end of August 2026, offering the chance to contribute to a supportive and ambitious school community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging KS1 lessons for a Year 2 class.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Contribute to wider school activities and uphold the Trust’s values and safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience in primary education.
• Strong curriculum knowledge for Key Stage 1.
• High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Required skills

• Effective lesson planning and delivery.
• Ability to assess and track pupil progress.
• Experience adapting teaching for diverse learners, including SEND.
