Secondary LTO: Technological Education – Hairstyling & Aesthetics

About the role

This Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) position is for a secondary‑school teacher of Technological Education, specializing in Hairstyling and Aesthetics. The appointment runs for the 2026‑2027 school year and may be offered at 0.33, 0.67 or 1.0 full‑time equivalent, depending on the selected schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the intermediate Hairstyling & Aesthetics curriculum to secondary students.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials and assessments aligned with provincial standards.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment and supervise practical lab work.
• Utilize Brightspace and other online learning tools to support blended instruction.
• Collaborate with department colleagues and contribute to school‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• Hold both Intermediate and Senior Technological Education qualifications, plus at least two senior teachable subjects.
• Possess a valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate in good standing.
• Provide a criminal background check with vulnerable‑sector screening before start date.
• Demonstrated ability to teach secondary‑level students in a school setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Brightspace learning management system.
• Technical knowledge of hairstyling techniques and aesthetic procedures.
