Co-Head of Pro Bono Health Programs

About the role

The Co-Head of Pro Bono Health will jointly design, coordinate, and strengthen health‑focused interventions for Pro Bono Uganda. Working side‑by‑side with the Head of Pro Bono Health, you will translate community health needs into evidence‑based programs that are ethically sound, inclusive, and aligned with national and global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead the design and rollout of health initiatives such as medical camps, SRHR education, mental‑health awareness, and maternal‑child health support.
• Integrate public‑health principles, safeguarding standards, and ethical practice into all activities.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and coordinate health volunteers and allied professionals.
• Foster partnerships with hospitals, clinics, NGOs, professional associations, and local leaders to enhance service delivery and sustainability.
• Support basic Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) processes, document lessons learned, and contribute to impact reporting.
• Uphold safeguarding, risk‑assessment, and compliance with Uganda’s health policies and Pro Bono Uganda’s values.

Required profile

• Background or strong interest in public health, nursing, medicine, psychology, social work, or community health.
• Experience in community outreach, health education, or volunteer coordination.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in diverse, low‑resource community settings.
• Commitment to ethical, people‑centred health practice.
