Coffee Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Coffee Buyer will lead the sourcing and onboarding of coffee farmers, ensuring a reliable supply of high‑quality beans for the company. This full‑time position combines strategic procurement with hands‑on supplier management to support Brightermonday Uganda’s coffee production goals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard coffee farmers to expand the supplier base.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Monitor order status and coordinate timely delivery of production, processing, packaging and distribution inputs.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and market trend analysis.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in coffee procurement or related sourcing roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Deep understanding of coffee quality standards and ability to assess and price based on quality.
• Strong strategic sourcing, negotiation, inventory and vendor relationship management skills.
• High integrity, excellent communication and adherence to business ethics.
