Counseling Staff – Summer Camp Positions

About the role
Blue Lake is seeking enthusiastic Counseling Staff to join its summer camp program. Counselors serve as role models, creating a warm, caring environment that nurtures self‑respect, healthy relationships, and artistic growth for campers.
Key responsibilities
- Live with assigned campers (10‑11 per cabin) and share meals.
- Supervise daily activities, clean‑up, and cabin routines.
- Plan and lead recreational, artistic, and social programs.
- Handle laundry of campers’ uniforms every other day.
- Work 15‑20 hours per week on specific assignments, including performance or artistic duties.
- For Lifeguard roles, provide pool supervision and obtain Red Cross certification.
- For Junior Camp (Camp Bernstein) positions, teach sectional or technique classes and possibly elective subjects such as art, choir, theater, or nature studies.
Required profile
- Demonstrated respect, discipline, and ability to act as a mentor.
- Willingness to live on‑site for the duration of the camp season.
- Physical fitness and strong swimming ability for Lifeguard positions.
- Ability to obtain Red Cross lifeguard certification before orientation.
- Teaching experience preferred for instructional roles.
