Credit Controller – Contract (Uganda)

About the role

The Credit Controller (Contract) will manage the company’s credit risk and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts. Working closely with finance and other internal teams, the role supports financial stability by monitoring accounts receivable and enforcing credit policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and recommend creditworthiness of new and existing customers, adjusting credit limits according to company policy.
• Monitor customer accounts regularly to keep outstanding debts within acceptable limits.
• Follow up overdue payments, negotiate payment plans, and promptly escalate delinquent accounts to management.
• Prepare and issue statements, reminders and ensure customers receive monthly invoices on time.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all credit transactions and produce daily, weekly and monthly reports on collections and overdue accounts.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal and Customer Care to resolve billing disputes and support junior staff.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month experience in credit control, collections or a related finance function.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial data.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
