About the role
We are looking for a motivated Debt Collections Intern to join our finance team in Kampala. This internship offers hands‑on experience in managing delinquent accounts, communicating with customers, and supporting the recovery process within a dynamic financial services environment.
Key responsibilities
- Make outbound collection calls to customers at various stages of delinquency.
- Remind customers of outstanding obligations and encourage timely repayment.
- Negotiate repayment arrangements and follow up on agreed commitments.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, payment commitments, and collection activities.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to balances and repayment.
- Escalate complex or sensitive cases to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical collection practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support portfolio performance and recovery efforts.
