Fabrication Engineer – Metal Fabrication & CNC Operations

About the role

The Fabrication Engineer will lead and support the production of metal components, enclosures, battery cases, cabinets and mounting structures at our Kirolo Production Site. This hands‑on engineering role combines technical execution on CNC equipment with day‑to‑day supervision of a small team of fabrication technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and supervise CNC press brake, CNC fiber laser cutter and other fabrication equipment.
• Perform cutting, bending, welding, drilling, grinding, finishing and assembly of metal parts.
• Set up machine parameters, tooling, nesting and material settings; troubleshoot basic issues.
• Create, edit and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, bend drawings and flat patterns.
• Apply and oversee welding processes for mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Supervise and coach fabrication technicians, allocate daily work, and monitor safety and productivity.
• Inspect fabricated components against drawings, tolerances and quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to align fabrication work with production schedules.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with CNC press brake and laser cutting machinery.
• Practical welding knowledge across common metals.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
• Experience supervising a small workshop team.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
