Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the finance and accounting functions for a manufacturing business in Kapeeka, ensuring accurate reporting, effective budgeting, strong internal controls and compliance with Ugandan law and IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and financial modelling to support strategic decisions.
• Oversee preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and group policies.
• Manage cash flow, treasury relationships, working‑capital optimisation and foreign‑exchange exposure.
• Control product costing, inventory valuation and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with Ugandan tax regulations and statutory filing requirements.
• Develop and maintain robust internal control systems and risk‑mitigation measures.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
• Drive ERP utilisation, process automation and finance‑related projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) required.
• 8‑10 years progressive finance experience, including 3‑5 years in a senior finance role.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, preferably in Uganda or East Africa.
• Fluent English; local language skills an advantage.
