Finance & Partnerships Specialist

About the role

The Finance & Partnerships Specialist will support donor reporting, budget development, and financial compliance for GOAL International’s GREEN and Charity: Water projects in Eastern Uganda. Working closely with the Project Coordinator, Financial Controller and M&E teams, the role ensures accurate financial tracking and partner management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and revise grant budgets, ensuring alignment with donor formats and GOAL budgeting rules.
• Provide monthly grant‑level financial analysis, advise budget holders on spend variances, and track support‑cost spending.
• Review downstream partner financial proposals for compliance and manage partner payments and reporting.
• Lead expenditure verification and audit processes, and deliver training on budget management and donor regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or CPA) with at least five years’ experience in an international NGO.
• Minimum three years in audit or a senior finance role, including budget preparation and donor reporting.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, able to work to tight deadlines and supervise team activities.

• Working knowledge of Sage accounting software
