Finance Officer – Uganda Country Program

About the role
The Finance Officer supports PATH’s Uganda Country Program by handling routine financial transactions, ensuring accurate vendor payments, payroll processing, and month‑end reporting. The role contributes to the organization’s mission of health equity by maintaining sound financial operations.
Key responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices, mobile‑money payments, and payroll returns, verifying completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
- Upload approved vouchers to payment platforms, review tax invoices for VAT eligibility, and ensure correct coding and budget approvals.
- Prepare monthly journals, statutory returns (NSSF, PAYE, WHT, LST) and associated payments within required timelines.
- Manage mobile‑money disbursements, reconcile related reports, and file all financial records in real time.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, monitor cash requirements, and liaise with department leads to maintain adequate liquidity.
- Support month‑end closing by reviewing balance‑sheet aging, preparing correction journals, and analyzing fuel consumption expenses.
Required profile
- Experience with vendor invoice processing and payment platforms.
- Familiarity with statutory filing requirements (NSSF, PAYE, WHT, LST).
- Ability to prepare monthly journals and perform bank reconciliations.
- Knowledge of mobile‑money platforms and cash‑flow monitoring.
