Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will be based on‑site in Kampala, supporting Modern Laminates Limited’s retail operations. This full‑time position is responsible for preparing, reviewing and analysing financial statements while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage daily bookkeeping, reconcile accounts and monitor cash flow.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost‑control initiatives.
• Prepare periodic financial reports for management and assist with internal and external audits.
• Maintain and update accounting software records and ensure timely reporting of all financial transactions.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; ACCA, CPA or similar certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance role, preferably within retail or a comparable commercial environment.
• Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and ability to identify trends, variances and risks.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, capable of meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams on‑site.
